This work of research deals in a systematic, detailed manner with the organization, running and problems of the institutions and society in Gipuzkoa throughout fifty key years for the history of Gipuzkoa: from 1680 to 1730. The author, basing his work on a rich varied set of documents, goes in depth into a phase that was marked by dynastic change and the repercussions this had for the traditional privileges of Gipuzkoa, and reveals unpublished or little-known aspects of these.
